Arrow Corbin Seat Factory

I need a new seat for my Electra Glide, a nice seat. Corbin makes some of the best seats and that's what I decided to go with. I looked on-line. They have an option to move your seat up 2 inches. I might like my seat up a bit but how much? Then I saw that if you come to their factory they can make a seat specially for you. So that's what I decided to do.
Their factory is in Hollister California. It looks like it's time for a road trip. I live in Durango Colorado. I took a couple of days off and headed out on my Harley.

I decide to take a scenic side route. Just before reaching the Four Corners area I turn northwest. This loop takes me into south-eastern Utah and through Monument valley. You can see from this map that the most direct route would have taken me through NE Arizona but instead I go through SW Utah.

This map is just of Monument valley and the alternate route. The yellow circle is where the four states meet (the Four Corners Monument). The lower gray path is the more direct route on Highway 160. I took the more northern route marked in blue. If you are headed through the Four Corners area I highly recommend this route.
It's fall but this area is very arid. You can see the colorful trees that are able to get water near the San Juan River.

You can see that much of this terrain is rock. There isn't much dirt.

There is a lot of sandstone near Mexican Hat Utah.

Mexican Hat is a very small town named after a rock formation that looks like an upside down sombrero. The above picture is of the Mexican Hat Rock that gave the town it's name. This next picture is the same picture cropped down to show Mexican Hat Rock (just left of the center of this picture).

Next I come south into Monument Valley.

Do you recognize this next picture?

This is where Forrest Gump decided to stop running and go back home.

When I first moved to Durango Colorado I rode through this area and took a picture. When I showed it to a friend he said "that's where Forrest Gump was!"
I said "What? Do you think so?"
He said "Oh Yea! Yea that's the place. Exactly!"
Now this place is even on Google Maps. Search for it. It's called Forrest Gump Point. Now there are pullovers where people stop thier cars to take pictures of the place where Forrest Gump decide to stop running. I rode past several cars that were parked before taking my pictures.

I continued through Monument Valley. This is a great motorcycle road for anyone in the four corners area.

I continued on to Flagstaff AZ. Here I met up with Route 66. After leaving town route 66 was replaced by Interstate 40 which, for the most part, went on the same route as route 66. At Seligman AZ I 40 took a shortcut strait west while Route 66 curved to the north. I pulled off the Interstate at Seligman. I checked into the Historic Route 66 Motel. This would be my home for the night.

In the same parking lot is the Roadkill Cafe where their slogan is "you kill it we grill it."

This town heavily relies on Route 66 tourism.

I like the 1954 Chrysler New Yorker in front of this place.

Here's a 1959 Edsel Ranger:

Here's an old gas station that has been converted into a souvenir shop:

I checked into my motel. I didn't take any pictures in my room but it's all set up with an automotive theme and route 66 signs.

Hollister is 1000 miles from my home and I'm half way there.

To be continued ...
