How do you keep mirrors from sliding down?

Hello, I have a 2003 1200C and it's the last of the rigid mounts. How does everyone keep the mirrors from sliding down as you ride? I'm trying to keep everything stock but other than putting a drop of JB Weld on them to keep them in place I have no idea what to do. I have heard about people taking them apart and putting tape on the ball but supposedly that doesn't last long and I don't think these come apart. Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks!

Squirt the balls with red loctite and work it around real good. Then let it set up overnight. Will help to tighten up your balls. May have to do this periodically but beats replacement cost..

Is that really a good thing. I don't like my balls tight. It gets uncomfortable. I hear replacement can be a bear. : )

Thanks Rustyg, I am going to try this before I spend the money to replace them.

Funny to read but good advice. I may try this on my EVO RK.

If you have 2 phillips screws on the forward face of mirrors, these are the ball tensioners. Tighten them.

True. But do not believe this model had them.

Correct, the screwing keeps your balls tight!
