I ride a 95 sporty 883 that has been popped out to 1200. I have heard all the girl bike/fag and homo comments to kill a horse so you can keep them to yourself.
I took it in a week ago had everything looked at to make sure she was ready for a longer ride than I have been on with her, about 9 hour ride to the coast so I could paint my grandmothers living room for her.
The guy did some basics, cleaned air filter, spark plug swap, changed turn signals to running light duos, changed oil sensor which has been leaking a bit, added air to tires, so on and so forth... one of the other things he had done is routed the breather hose from the super charger back into the super charger, I have always been told it needed to be routed to the front of the bike and it will spit oil there, before that the breather hose has been melted off and I had something on there that wasn’t correct.
Okay so I made it the whole way without any problems, but the other day going another 50 miles to another stop on our list the bike lost power, now the guy who worked on the bike told me he did something “don’t have the paperwork in front of me” to give me an extra 25% power ie which calculates into more speed, sooo I wanted to test it out, I opened it up quite a bit, came to a small town where the speed dropped to 45 and I dropped my speed knowing it’s a speed trap town, after the town I started back into 5th gear and after 55mph I would add throttle but it wouldn’t accelerate, it would rev up but no acceleration... I pulled in the clutch to down shift, and as I did the bike dies.
I pulled over to the side of the road downshifted all the way and started it up with no problem, went another 5 miles kind of chugging, I thought maybe I was low on gas so I switched to reserve and still chugging, went from going 45mph down to a speed zone of 20 and again as I pulled in the clutch she dies.
I road around town and bit the next day no problems... so trying to get some ideas... the reason I mentioned the rerouting of the breather hose back into the super charger is I was wondering while he said this was a “cleaner way of doing it so the oil becomes recycled” I wonder if it’s clogging my filter maybe.... I’m not a mechanic so don’t know.
