All you needed to post was:

"06 Road King has a broken axle holder stud, how can this be repaired?"

Old Biker told me once..Its doesn't matter how many brain cells you kill, but how many you had to begin with ?

Unless I missed something critical in my reading....always possible.
I really have no idea of just what part you are talking about.

Maybe go to >Ronnies Partsfinder.
Give us a link and a refrence/part number to go by.

Or. Maybe another member see`s what ever it is I missed and knows what you are talking about.

I`m headed for the medicine chest for a couple aspirin.

Ronnie's Harley-Davidson's 2006 Harley Davidson FLHRS ROAD KING CUSTOM (FX) | SUSPENSION - FRONT FORKS (NON-FAIRING MODELS) Parts List)

Item #20 = Stud (AKA Pinch Bolt) I think this is what the discussion is about?

I'm not figuring how they put a 7/16" drill start in a 1/4' bolt though, Good trick!

We are talking about front fork leg cap studs. I think the studs have different threads on each end. The studs are common SAE, and a bolt would work, but I'd rather have a stud. Napa should have it. The 7/16" drill bit goes through the axle hole (perpendicular) so the axle gets pulled just right when axle nut is torqued. Getting the old piece of stud out, may be another chapter to the story.

Thanks, Breeze3at for interpreting...

OP: No, these bozos cannot fix this themselves, all they can do is ruin the bottom fork slider.

Take the drill away from them.

If there are any tools on their bikes, take them away also.

Also, OP: you really need to think about how to ask a technical question, we don`t need the life history of everyone involved, just get to the point.

Just to clarify. The torque spec on those pinch bolts is only 132-180 INCH POUNDS. The bolt/stud broke because they over torqued it.
