Clutch problem.

1986 Fxr Super Glide with 5 speed Tranny, dog leg style.

What it does: After adjusting the clutch it will run about 80 miles then clutch lever gets loose and very hard to shift when not moving. Then very hard to shift while moving.

What we’ve done: Has new Barnett clutch cable. Inner clutch hub had a broken bolt in it so we installed a new one. Clutch hub nut then began spinning loose so we used high temp red lock tight to set it. Clutch hub seems still tight. Throw out bearing was crushed, so changed it, still good. Large C-clip popped loose, was wore on one side so we flipped it and set it.

The exact problem persist. Outside of putting a bullet in her (So temping) I’m open to any knowledge. Thanks guys.

Can’t delete this post but seems the C-Clip is pushing out. Will get a new one and save a few bullets.

It is easy to bend/warp that large snap ring when removing it.
