Really different ride.
The 114 in the FX has around 60ft lbs more torque.

The DX really starts pulling after 3 grand, and pulls fairly smooth.
The FXDR pulls right off of the line, and pulls really hard.

I can lean much farther on the FX than the DX, and I'm not even comfortable with the different ride yet.

I shift by ear, and there's a significant difference in redlines, but I'm trying to keep it below 3 grand for the first few hundred miles, which is not easy, when you're used to a V-rod engine.

Overall, I'm happy with the ride, still getting used to the differences, after riding the DX nearly every day since 2008...

The FXDR has a 6 speed though right? That's my biggest complaint with my dx is too many rpms at 65mph+

Correct, the FXDR has 6 gears. The DX redlines @ 8500, Mine would run around 5k at 80 in 5th, the FXDR cruises effortlessly at 80 in 6th like overdrive.

After riding a DX for all of these years, I'm still getting used to the difference in RPMs at speed.

Hell I'm still getting used to the FXDR at idle, sounding like it's trying to die. That's just the 45 lope.

Congrat's on that hot ride!!!

I'm still struggling with the styling in the area of the mid-frame, tail and exhaust, but it's growing on me.

I'm not a huge fan of that area either, except the mid and exhaust, I dig the look of it. Probably just going to gut it to get some sound out of it.

The tail area, should be a fairly easy mod.
