Many other bikes would have more long term value.

Off the top of my head:
1981 FXB Sturgis
1983 XR1000 Sportster
1977 XLCR 1000 Sportster

Yes, cafe racer is close to the top of my list...

I'm thinking this bike needs a museum or a special type of collector. Either way its not easy to put a value on this bike!
In 2032 you may be right.

You've RUINED it!!!! Now it'll NEVER be a collectors item.

Unless you could add the value of being owned by a badass wedding planner..

My Ol' Lady deserves the medal. She did abot 50K of it two up. Yellowstone, Glacier, Rocky Mountain, Beartooth, Chief Joseph, Tuscon, and a mess of other stuff. Never bitched until Yellowstone II. Then said" let's go buy a bigger bike. Got the 2012 FLSTB ... 55K later she says lets got get a 16 RGS FTRXS. I was like .. yep baby good plan.

She is a great Ol' Lady. And one if the few that knows what Ol' Lady means and what is expected. 1960s and 70s rider. Not afraid of two up two side by side 1/2 second interval dragging the primary in the corners.

Ride it or drill it often as possible. The idea of it being collectible means your grandkids might make money on it.

As far as drilling ... always send that shitt on wore out and needin to be sleeved.
