new 2002 VRSCA

Several years ago I purchased a 2002 VRSCA with 2 miles. I was thinking that this being a first year model that at some point this may become valuable. Can anyone offer an opinion regarding a asking price today or what potential this may bring in the future? Thanks!

Whatever the market will bear.

Just remember. It's NOT a 67 Camaro or 64 Mustang....

You can buy them all day long with under 5K for 3800.

I have an 03 VRSCA

Potential buyers may/will be looking at costs to get it safely road worthy above and beyond the purchase price.
Example: ALL fluids drained and replaced.
The brake fluid flushed, refilled and of course the brakes bled.
The stock tires replaced.
Any other miscellaneous things that may need to be done due to the motorcycle sitting for 17 years.
Labor for the above being performed by a reputable shop.
All this should be taken in to account buy the seller when setting a price.
Others opinions may vary.

I agree with your assessment regarding the maintenance. However, putting it on the road will have a very negative affect on the value. Someone mentioned that this bike could be bought with under 5K miles for a very low price. I agree 100%. However, how many can be found with 2 miles?? I'm thinking this bike needs a museum or a special type of collector. Either way its not easy to put a value on this bike!

Well my .02
Its not an 01
Not a 03
2 miles is still under 5k.

What the market will pay is what youll get for it.

Youd have on heck of a task at hand trying to convince me that you have a rare gem on your hands.

It isn't a collectors item if that is what you're hoping for.

Many other bikes would have more long term value.

Off the top of my head:

1983 XR1000 Sportster
1977 XLCR 1000 Sportster

Just like the people that bought "Anniversary Editions".
Parked them.
Then waited for the $$$ windfall that never came.

Sure it is.
Put it up for "Best Offer".
Then take it or leave it.
