History
Our first cruiser of any type as well as our first Harley-Davidson, this is basically a bucket list bike. We've tried sport touring (BMW R1150RT) and found it boring, and my wife was never really comfortable riding two-up on my CBR1100 or the BMW R1100S. So, given that I think my wife's always wanted to be a Harley chick, we thought we'd give it a shot. Thought about a Street Glide, Road Glide Custom and Road King Customs, but they didn't have the sporty wind-in-your-face feel of the Wide Glide. Of course, with all of the 'creature comfort stuff' that we've added it's a lot closer to being a Road King 'light' than the Boulevard cruiser it started as.
