i have an 03 iron 883 fairly stock except for pipes. its got 17,xxx on it. it just recently started having an issue when it gets hot. i was riding the other day, fairly hard, about 85-90 degrees out and when i throttled back at the stop light it died. tried started again, backfired but no start. i let it cool down for like an hour and a half and went to start it and it ran fine. every time i went to try to start it, it would backfire. I've heard anything from coil to pickup, intake manifold gasket to a clogged fuel line. any help for a new guy here??

thinking maybe try taking the air filter off when it does this and then try starting could need air.
Had a very similar issue with a 99' sporty one time. It turned out to be a bad coil. It was good until it got hot the it was garbage. Don't know if that's what your problem is but just thought I would share it.
