Was wondering if there should be some play in the shifter rod, i tried to adjust this today so it wouldnt have any slack.....needless to say i wasn't able to get it tight no matter how many times i moved it.

Another ? , did a search and noticed most adjusting rods are straight.......no idea if mine is stock or not, bought the bike used.

Thanks

Rich

What part tight? How does it shift?
No issues shifting up or down, when i was at the local dealer i noticed there levers were all tight.....now those were new bikes.

My front lever moves about a 1/8 inch or so before moving the trans lever.

Everything works ok, i was just wondering if the rod was supposed to have some play in it or not

If the Shifter lever is tight, with no slop in the bushings and there is play is it before the shifter shaft or on the lever side? This will tell if it is external or internal. Make sure the shaft lever bolt is tight and check for slippage there. work your way back to the shifter pedal as you have already made an adjustment to the Sift Rod. Find the Culprit.
