Need a little help, guidance, insight from you guys. What do you think is a fair price for a 2004 Road King Custom. It has 25K miles on it. Hasn't been ridden in over a year. Good shape (no dings, etc). Comes with a windscreen and alarm system. Other than that - stock throughout. Thoughts? Thanks all.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of $9k +/- a few hundred. It depends if it is a dealer or private sale.

The part of the country makes a little bit of difference as well.

Appreciate it. It is a private sale - MD area. I've seen price fluctuations between $7500 - $13K!!

I think Chasarms is right on. Somewhere between 8K-9.5K would be a decent deal depending on the condition in person.
I have a 2004 RKC for sale right now for $11,500. 14200 miles. Loaded. Black. Mint. Carb''d.

Location and time of year have a lot to do with motorcycle pricing.
I own a 2004 RK that I purchased in 2012 for $9000. You should figure in new tires unless they can show they are recently mounted. This model is also affected by the bad cam tensioner design from the factory. After my purchase, mine were found to have over a 50% wear on them. If you want better cams then this is when you may address this for a savings. I would not just change out the tensioners without making the update that gives you better berings, cam plate and a much improved oil pump. This change would run about $1800-$2100. I included mine with the S&S 97" build to save money. Don't let anyone tell you that the cam tensioners can go for 30,000 or more miles before needing attention, you may end up buying a new engine with this advise. They have failures from 10,000 to 80,000 miles on record, so it's a crap shoot. You should at least have this bike taken down for an inspection if you purchase it. This should not be a deal breaker because after the parts are brought up to the standards of the 07 and later bikes, it may give you years of service. Even the new Hydraulic tensioners need to be looked at. If your crank runout is within the standards needed, then you can add the cam gears and rid yourself of the problem forever. Good Luck

What any bike is worth depends on whether I'm buying or selling.
Thanks for all the feedback. I decided to purchase the '04 RKC. It is my nephews bike who is transferring to Hawaii from DC. It is loaded with extras and what the hell...keep it in the family. I also have a 2013 BMW R1200RT, so I'm lucky enough to have the best of both worlds here. I'm looking forward to becoming a member of your elite group. If anyone out there lives in/around the Dayton, OH area, drop me a PM. I'll be picking the bike up next weekend. Would love to do some riding. //Rob
