Bought a 2014 road king twin cam 103, wanting to get rid of the catalytic converter and install some headers. Getting a bit confused on the difference if any between the 2+2 or 2+1+2 headers. Not sure which is the best way to go. Been around motorcycles my entire life but this is my first Harley. Hoping I can draw upon the Harley gurus on the forum to educate me a bit to figure out what’s the best way to go.

If you're going to tune and going for power, 2-1 is what most of the guys I know recommend. If you want that true Harley sound, hard to beat the true duals.
2-1-2's are almost like a hybrid/compromise of the two. Offer better performance and tuning than true duals, but won't be as good as a dedicated 2-1. They'll give you that Harley rumble, but not as much as true duals. Basically you'll have to choose based on what you want out of the pipes and what your plans are with the bike.
