Just bought bike, yes it has 97k, bought from original owner have every record of repairs since new, runs very well but I notice I hear a ticking or a clear valvetrain up top high on motor when cruising medium throttle, I don't hear it when cold, I also don't hear it hot at idle, mainly when ur load it or gas on it cruising down highway, its not a spark knock its a clear chatter yet light chatter its not terrible, just wondered any thoughts on this? I would swear a rocker arm or tappet sound, I know lifter is down on base though, the sound I believe is up top

My 07 does it too around 2400-2600 rpm. It's just a slight ticking noise. I run syn 3 in mine and was told it will be a little noisier with synthetic than running with regular oil. I was told it was normal.

The noise is mostly likely a lifter(s) bleeding after the oil thins, along with the thermal expansion growth of the engine, creating lash between the rocker arm, and the pushrod tip.
I'd have a peek inside to attend to it.:thumbsup

yea I just had a local bike shop look at it, he said def not in cam box, its up top, and he said to be honest that's nothing worry about and it does have adj push rods from last cam change service, he said he can adjust them up but not needed? correct if im wrong but hydr lifters y would u need to adjust?, im thinkin of few quick oil changes to see if it clears it up, because I just bought bike and he told me oil was overdue, so I went had it all 3 holes done, 2 days ago, and oil is already dirty again, what u guys think? and ty 4 all and any help

Shouldn't get dirty that quick, IMO. Many here agree that a product called "Seafoam" added to the crankcase just before an oil change, and running the engine up operating temp for a bit before draining it, can help clean up the engine. Might be worth reading up on it and giving it a try.

so today another dealer said def not cam tensioners, they said its clearly 1 pushrod a lil loose not to worry, I came off let her cool off pulled breather popped tubes loose, got cams on flats and all 4 seemed snug no play and all twisted easily so I went ahead adj them all 1 or 2 flats just a tweak, took ride, noise still there but lil better, I think its a rocker arm in rocker box, anyone seen this issue? the sound is not there at idle cold or hot, just if u rev it n hold it at say around 2500 rpm, or when riding it when u gas on it a lil, in fact if gas it heavy its gone too, its like middle range if that makes sense?

My 07 does the same thing at the same RPM range. 66k on the clock, no issues so far.
