I don't see where the tail light will interfere with the rack. Most racks mount to the tag holder bolts. Find one to look at. Just out of curiosity, what other add-ons seem to not work?

 

Why wouldn't one of the HD detachable solo racks not fit? They mount to the side rails as most do. Here's one. There are probably quite a few more that will mount this way as well.

A solo rack would fit IF it was what I was wanting to go for, however between the price of a new solo seat and the solo rack, plus docking hardwear the price is way more than I want to spend just to haul my lunch bucket to work.

 

What's so different about a "1200 CP" Besides the taillight being LED and the fat front tire?

I'm pretty sure allz ya gotta do is get a re-locate kit for your rear flashers to start with.
THEN, you can get what ever ya want for the back of that bike.

 

You don't even have to do that for one of the solo racks or sissy bar side plates. The XL's have the two mounting bolt there already for the detachable hardware as well.

Maybe the OP will post a pic of the bike so we can see why the tail light would interfere with mounting a rack.

 

Do not have a photo of the LED tail light houseing or the fender luggage rack to snap a photo of how it does not fit and not willing to order another just to snap a photo or two as I already waited $8.00+ on return shipping of the first one.

 

"Aftermarket" ?... That's why I buy Harley parts. They fit !

Unless of course There's nothing available from H-D for your model yet....

 

There is a very limited selection (only 1) of H-D luggage rack systems for the 2012 XL1200C uless yoy go with the sissybar and luggage rack system.

I ride solo 99% of the time and have no need for a sissy bar, but it may be an option I will have to look at as it would cost less than the 1 OEM luggage rack (solo) and a replacement of the OEM seat to a OEM solo seat.

I have thought about looking for a 2010 fender, tail light, signal lights to replace the 2012 system as there are more items available for the older sporty's.

Its the headake I get for purchasing a new 2012 sporty I guess.
