The bars on the 72, are the same bars found on the Fat bob and the heritage softail. I believe they are 9 inches. Pretty sure they will mount as bars are typically 1 inch bars, but for the cables; you'll have to get a set of the bars and check it out. You may have just enough slack to do it; otherwise get a set of cables and call it a day.
2014/72 Bars on a '90 XLH883 Question.
Question, will the 2014 / 72 sportster bars fit this bike w/out new cables? ('90 XLH883 Hugger)
Not sure how tall the 72 bars are compared to the stock '90 bars and slack in the cables. They seem taller and wider whereas your hands are not pulled in so far.
If not maybe the 10" bars will work.
