Is there consensus on this? I hear different things from different owners & shops - who has done this and can say whether you needed to do ANYTHING else beyond slipping them on?
If you just do pipes you don't have to tune, if you do pipes and breather you will have to tune the bike. I put the V&H 300 eliminators on my wife's 19 heritage, she loves them. She does have the stage1 done.

The 114"/117" motors come stock with what is considered a Stage 1 air cleaner, so if you put pipes on you will need to do the Stage 1 tune on it.

I purchased a Fat Boy new back in 2012 and had slip ons fitted from new, didn't need tuning and sounded great, then later on I went for the Heavy Breather filter, stage 1 so had to have it turned. Still sounded the same but road better.
