Or the auto chain adjuster can be replaced by a different brand auto chain adjuster like the Hayden unit. This auto adjuster keeps the chain tensioned without over tightening like the factory units do. Find neutral easier and quieter shifting.

The Hayden was one I was considering, but heard of problems with them coming apart.

I've been installing the Hayden tensioners since 2009 and haven't heard a complaint yet. I'd like for you to point me to some of the problems you've heard about so I can investigate if there's actually a problem with Hayden. I wouldn't want to install a product prone to failure ya know.
As far as the Hayden tensioner "coming apart", I can't understand how that could happen if installed correctly in the installation procedure in the first place ! Seriously I haven't heard of the Hayden "coming apart" thing till you mentioned it in this thread !

I've used Hayden's M6 primary chain tensioner for more than 20 years on a chopped shovel, a TC with 100 HP@102 Ft Lbs tq, aTC Ultra, and installed quite a few working at a small indie shop. I highly recommend them.
I'm also a fan of the Hayden !

I need to mention that when I install the Hayden tensioner I check the slide for the shoe and clean the slide edges up with a fine file until I can push the shoe up and down against the spring until it's smooth and not binding, this is my only gripe with the Hayden.
