I have a 96 sportster 883 with the 1200 stage 1 kit. I recently purchased this bike and noticed that the odometer is going extremely fast. It is putting on almost 10 miles to every mile I travel. What could be causing this??? The speedometer is working fine. what caught my attention was how fast the tenths of a mile numbers were going. Is the speedometer bad or could it be a wire, sensor, etc? I haven't saw anyone have an issue like this that I could find. thank you in advance for any replies. Local dealer said to replace speedo but wanted to check before I start throwing money at the problem. One good thing is the bike probably has way lower miles than it displays. haha
