Hi new to the site and need some help. I purchased a ev13 for my evo and had the stock gear pressed on to it. I put it in with a .050 shim. the problem I am having is the gear is pushed out about .050 now in relation to the pinion gear. the lifters match up with the lobes but like I said the cam gear is out a touch is this normal? the gear is pressed on tight. the end play seems to be ok as well.

Please Help :DeadHorse:

hi there, everything you done there sounds correct and if the cam float figure is about .005" or more, then you wont be too much wrong, but if the pinion gear has seen a lot of work and it is partually worn, then the two gears will be wearing unequal with each other.
i would have new pinion gear fitted as precaution if not allready fitted.
