Seems like I've worked on all my leather bags due to sagging. In another post I showed how i fixed my saggy saddlebags. This time it's a little smaller but still better than spending $100 for a leather HD bag or buying a cheaper synthetic leather bag that gets too stiff to get open when it's cold. I bought a piece of 2"x1/8" aluminum stock, 4, 1/4" sleeve bolts and it only took me an hour for this fix. I drilled the rivits out of the flimsy POS bar inside the bag and replaced it with the aluminum. A little blue lok-tite on the sleeves and I achieved the result I wanted for about $10. you just have to bend a slight curve in the new backer piece to match your windshield wbag.JPG

Well done!

I know what you mean about the flimsy bar. I put a new bag on my new Heritage last week and when I bent the bar to match the curve in the windshield it nearly folded in half.

I may be needing to copy your fix sooner than normal. :)
