Afternoon folks, anyone around here been running the HJC i31 3/4th helmet? I've been running the Jet II for a number of years now, absolutely love it, with the flip down sunglasses blocking wind at around town speeds and the face shield for cold weather or highway speeds. Wear glasses so I like to stick to the 3/4th for that reason.
Few months ago I came out of where I keep my bike, caught the back of my current helmet on the wood of the deck above, wasn't crouched low enough. Wrenched my neck and did a number on the helmet. Managed to fix the sunglass mechanism and air vent with a very minor bit of super glue and it's been OK since then, not quite right, but still functional.
Yesterday I was in the city, walking back to my bike and the snap on the chin strap let go. Helmet thudded the concrete pretty bad, not much hope of saving it this time and it's discontinued by HJC so can't get spare parts.
So, time for a new helmet, may pick up the i31 and just wondering if anyone else has got it and how they like it. Other major question on it is how is the air flow with it on and the vents open, yet to find an HJC that I can feel significant airflow on a hot day. Also, going by the pictures, and even the fit on my Jet II, they look a little tight around the cheek area so smaller pads would probably be the order of the day as well.
