I posted a question yesterday trying to see if this switch and knob is actually a service light switch for lights under the frame. has anyone seen this or have one on your bike? Its on an 06 Heritage Classic.

I will take a couple of guesses:
  1. heated clothing?
  2. heated seat?
  3. intercom or other communications device?

Thanks for the response. Harley mechanic thought they were mechanics help lights but wasn’t sure. Just trying to figure what in the heck that switch does.
Safe riding!

Thanks for your response. I’ll keep investigating. Next time I go for service I’ll have the mechanic give me a better explanation.

"Mechanics help lights" o_O on a mcy.? I'd ask a different mechanic next time in. I'll guess the switch is for foo foo effects lights under the tank and engine. Or heated clothing, but that would have a plug in jack. Tracing wires would be a good idea.

That looks like glow light controls.

Do you have spotlights on your heritage?
My FLSTSI has a simular setup for my dual spotlights to turn them on or off. Should be easy enough to follow the wires from the switch to where they end.

Could be a lot of things, battery cutoff switch, etc.

If the wires go nowhere bag the switch and box.

M first thought was does he have a compressor for the rear shocks. My 14 had one someone installed the leaked off like everyone else's does. My switch to pump up or bleed off the shocks was right about where your switch is. I guess I'd flip the switch to see what happened. Don't be on the bike when you do it, it might be for the ejector seat.

I'm still with the glow lights under the tank thing. An on / off toggle switch with a knob to adjust voltage to the lights for dimming etc..

Seriously, how hard is it to simply follow the wires?
