Need some suggestions, Some time in near future going to seal Asphalt driveway and it has a few cracks that I want to fill in first.
I've been reading plenty of reviews ...so now I'll try this forum to see if anybody had done this and what they suggest before heading to lowes.
Thanks!
two years ago some guy stopped by house with a crew of four guys and a hot tank..paid them $180 bucks to go over driveway....took them five minutes and they didn't come back to do second coat like he said they would and didn't cover that good....doing it myself this time!

I've seen a gray epoxy type repair that works like.....epoxy. Unlike tar that gets soft in the sun. It's actually sold as "Concrete crack repair".
Can't remember if it was Lowe's or Home Depot, but last time I did mine I shopped and they had a wide selection of sealers: good, better, best, etc. I got the best stuff that was about $50 per 5 gal. container. Think maybe it was "rubberized". And it was thick enough that it filled all the smaller cracks. Good stuff. Far far above the watered down goop those guys riding around in trucks put on that looks good for maybe 30 days at most.

I last did mine about 5 years ago. Yes, it has been needing another coating for the last couple of years and I have been ignoring it. Scheduled to have it all torn out and concreted in September.
filling the crack is a must if you want your driveway to last. The sealer is you get what you pay for.
When I moved here found some water like crack filler in gallon jugs...I didn't know if it was old or what, didn't work well at all.

Get a bag of cold patch at Lowes or home depot. Scoop some into the crack and use a small large face hammer to work it into the crack. Then seal coat the drive way with sealer. You'll get about three or four years out of it with normal upkeep and a mild climate.

Thanks to everyone, cold patch seems like the thing to use and then seal!
Buddy of mine had some left over 'Hydraulic Cement' from a different project and figured, 'hell it's free' so he tried that. It's held up great. Just a thought....
When we moved to NM we bought a campground. Now this place was more of an overnight stopping type of place rather than a destination campground, but the gypsy workers would stay here whenever they were in the Santa Fe area. What I would see them do to asphalt products would make anyone think twice about dealing with them. The one thing that really shocked me was them taking their tank truck and pumping water from my cesspool to thin the product. Never deal with the gypsy driveway people.
