It can certainly be done, but I'm not sure you want the extra load on the headlight circuit. Much better to find an accessory connection, or make one, using a relay driven off the light circuit, powered from the battery.

hi:
i have a 2004 heritage.
i wanna install gps on windshield. Leader Motorcycle GPS Windshield Mount (for Harley Davidson)

i would like to wire it from the headlight because it would be powered when key is on only.
i wanna connect it using a battery (sae) wiring harness ..
Amazon.com: Battery Tender 081-0069-6 Ring Terminal Harness with Black Fused 2-Pin Quick Disconnect Plug: Automotive

then a battery connector to usb converter from amazon.
Amazon.com: Battery Tender 081-0158 Black Quick Disconnect Plug with USB Charger: Automotive

then plug in cable from covverter to gps..
does this sound right?
thanx
I don't see any problem with current draw, as the GPS is only a tiny amount.

Spotlights, could be accessory. Is there one on the other side? Get yourself a good manual, you'll love yourself for it.
