I have a 2011 XL1200 Custom Sportster Cali model (according to the VIN).
My question is, Do EFI engine have a "Evaporative Emission Control System" aka Charcoal Canister or is this for carburated engines only?

Thanks

You might want to get a Service Manual for your bike . They have a lot of info and location of critical Items , tourge specs.
EBay or Amazon is a good place to get one

If your manual shows a carburetor, then you have an after market manual, not the factory manual. Get a factory manual for your year. For your answer, yes California models have an evap system and canister.

Yes, I do have a Clymer manual. I'm getting a real one for xmas :)

Thanks for all the replys. I stopped by Harley today to get a set of SE plug wires and asked the parts guy. He didn't know and had to go look at a Sportster and assumed all bikes from Cali have some kind of emissions on them.

And yes the SE plug wires are installed and they do look spectacular.

Thanks again
