I know this has been asked in the past but if you don't mind I'll ask again! I have 2006 StreetGlide that has 27k on it what is the rule of thumb as to when I should think about replacing my tensioners.
Regular maintence is perfromed and no engine mods have been done on the bike!

thanks in advance

Inspect them during your next service, to see how worn they are.

Make sure to take a look at the inner cam tensioner, seems this one wears out quicker than the easily accessible outer tensioner.

Figures huh?

I'm guessing that on a 2006, they will still be in pretty decent shape, but I'd still take a look by 35K at the latest.

I replaced the tensioners at 20K on my 00 Wide Glide. The little buggers were showing considerable wear. It was not serious yet, but enough to get my attention. So I decided to get them out of there, adding S&S 510 solid gear cams, which did wake up things a bit.

Mine were at half life at 25K. Replaced them and installed Andrews 57s, should wake her up a bit.
