So I am new to the Harley brotherhood and have been having troubles with my bike recently, first had a carb leak, now I have an idle problem and my fresh oil i just replaced smells of gas and is frothy. The bike will not run in idle and I have to hold the throttle on. At first I believed it was the vacuum cap due to a hiss. I replaced that and the issue remains. Could it be due to these hoses in attatched picture? The bike is an 01 883 hugger. Rode away from the stealership after them fixing the fuel leak to now this problem.

Check your fuel valve.

There should be a vacuum line that goes to the back side of it that looks just like that.

And then for sure drain that oil and change the filter.
I would even think about running it till is is thoroughly warmed up after the first change. Then changing it right away again.

If there is gas in the oil it is not a good thing for engine life expectancy.

The OP must have a different petcock because the engine runs.
That vacuum Y connect needs to be plugged, it's leaking vacuum.
