I have SE shotgun slip on mufflers
Would like to remove only the Catalytic converter , but keep the baffle
to avoid too loud sound
is it possible ?
is it recommended ? will sound be better ?

Will be able to tune it with the V&H FP3 tuner

The CAT will be in the front end of the muffler, use a long chisel and break it up and knock it out. Baffles are in the rear end of the muffler.

Thanks, will it sound better by knocking out the CATs and keep the baffles ? Will it need tuning ? I believe it will reduce heat

The CAT is like a box of straws. If you do a sloppy job, it will not help the flow.

Same deal, take a chisel and knock it out. You need to break it up (hence the chisel), and knock it out. Yes, it will sound better and the engine will breathe better.

Just Drilled them out , first with 6mm long drill bit and continued with 12 mm
Than had to use Chizel till all removed .

Have now on the K&N RK-3932 intake , which looks great too and breath better than stock .
Together with V&H FP3 , performance is better . still running Autotune .

Exhaust sound did not change much .
Wonder if open pipes with non quiet Baffles will sound and perform better

Needs to be about 18" - 2' long, you can take a long drill bit and drill and get a start that way.

OR
Have a welder cut a slot in an take it out an re weld it

Misfit, the OP was talking about the mufflers with the CAT's in them, so cutting out a window an welding it back in would look hideous on the muffler.
