Afternoon all,
I was wondering if there is a great cleaning product that folks use instead of washing their bike with soap and water.
Looking for something that does plastic, chrome or both. There’s quite a few different products out there, just looking for some solid recommendations.

Thanks,
Frankie

I have never used it myself.

Very seldom, like maybe once a year, do I wash mine with soap & water. When I do get the hose & bucket out any good car wash stuff from an auto parts store usually does a great job. And S100 is great and I use it all over the motor, etc. but I don't use it on painted surfaces cause it will strip off your wax--if you are one of those like me that waxes your bike. If I didn't have wax on my bike I would spray the whole bike with S100.

Most times my cleaning consists of getting the bike standing upright on my jack and rolling around the bike on a wheeled stool taking a section at a time and wiping it down with a damp microfiber cloth then drying each section with a dry microfiber cloth. That's all it usually needs. Maybe a couple of times a year I spray the motor area with the S100 and rinse immediately.

When it comes to baked on bugs it is vehicle soap and water. Lots of products claim lots of stuff and I use most. Bug off or sompingthing like that is good, Bug slide good, Pledge does as good as anything.

Dusty prefers Bugslide for just a wipe down and S100 for her bubble bath. When done properly, she’s up for a good, hard ride after either.

In lieu of washing I use Meguiars detailer spray and a microfiber towel.

It depends how dirty she gets ...

Between actual washings its just Bug Slide AFTER she gets 'dusted-off'.

Road salt and mud usually get as a minimum, a good hosing and drying followed by Bug Slide.

If it's bad .... It's full spa day!!

Regular cleaning is usually done with detailer, not real picky about which one. Major crud, comes off with S100.. but when you use this stuff, make darn sure you have rinsed it all off with a hose. If you leave any residue, it will turn white and be a real b!tch to try and get off.

I do similar ... Emphasis. :grin

If I ride my bike to the car wash that means that I have to wait for it to cool.

There is NO bar next to the car wash ... Therefore, I wash at home!!
