I don't know what the difference is between a 93 or a 96, but the 93 with proper jets will work fine. Yes, you can plug the VOES vacuum port. A short piece of tubing with a solid plug stuffed in the end will work fine.

The 93 has no Voes. If the two carbs are in the same condition, I would go with the 93.:)

The idle cable and air cleaner won't fit.
is there any way I can mod them to work
I see that the idle cable has a shorter casing to cable ratio
is the hole pattern diff on the air cleaner & can I redrill or is there something else in the way ????

I would go with the 96 sportster carb. If you get one the for a 1200 it will have the nokk needle!! Trust me it will be the best needle harley made for not being lean off throttle for better warm ups and get you good gas milage. I do modifications with that very needle get the 96!!!!!

Anything can be modded or fabricated if you're handy with the tools !
