I know tons of info have been written on this but I cannot seem to narrow it down to my set up.
I have an 05 fxd 88.
With an SE air filter and V&H Big Shots with 8 inch dragster baffles wrapped with 3/8 inch fiberglass rope. They are piggy backed onto Hard Kore Quiet baffles that seem fairly restrictive.

I have had a TFI on and get 25 mpg.
So, it makes me wonder.

I'm about ready to pull it off and go without one.

Do I really need a Fuel adjuster ?? :DeadHorse:

thanks

Yes, yes you do need one or you will run very lean.
Sounds to me like your TFI is not properly set if you are getting 25mpg must be running too rich.

If the fuel controller was turned way down and the engine was missing I have to think that there's something else wrong or the controller isn't functioning correctly. Piggy back fuel management systems can't tune outside the range of the map that's in the ECM. I would disconnect the fuel controller to see if the engine still misses.
Also pull up any codes that are stored. The procedure is a sticky in the electrical section. That might provide a clue to what's going on.
