Well a course days ago I was pulling out of the club house on my '76 sportster and I lost my gears it acted like the drive chain popped off it's still there and so is the primary chain..I can still feel it click into gear but it just won't go can someone give me some tips on where to start thanks dalton

There are many possibilities of what broke. A quick check is to pull the primary drive sprocket cover (right side) and make sure the sprocket and shaft are ok.

check to see if ya spring plate in the clutch didnt grenade. if the rivits are disintegrated the plates snd frictiob will just spin up.no movement. like having no clutch at all.

Yes, check the drive sprocket. The Sporty sprocket nut has a history of spinning loose.
