I've decided to be a mechanic. Actually changed the rear tire myself. Got me a torque wrench to do the rear axel nut. However the torque wrench is not going "click". In plain English what does 60 ft-lb feel like? I'm a pretty big guy (well maybe not pretty) and I put about 3/4 of my strength to it. I'm afraid of applying too much pressure. Could the new AmPro wrench be defective? thanks.

If the wrench is 1 foot long it should feel exactly like 60lbs of weight are hanging from the end of it.

Try the wrench at lighter settings to see if it clicks, maybe 20 lbs. I would not ride until you get it straightened out.

Hang a 20 lb plate from exactly a 3 foot bar.
Use a digital scale, like one to hang a fish from.

I have to use a crescent wrench and measured breaker bar to torque my axle nuts and even tho I know it is accurate, I'm using a digital scale, it does seems like a whole lot of pressure.
