Got mine in Sept and have over 2500 mi on it thru winter. Like others have said, options are limited. Added mini apes for comfort, but had to compromise on cables, for example. Great handling, good power. Still grinning.

That smile never goes away, where are the pics? :D

Year and a half old thread and all you can do is that? Introduce yourself in new members thread.

I went to a fat bob from a super glide love the fat bob, but I cudn't get used to 4ward controls so I've gone to mid controls & pull back risers.all gd now I felt I had to hold my legs out there. so also got saddle bags ,carrier, screaming eagle slipons just the right sound for me not too loud it's my last bike ,only 2nd harley

Snagged an 09 last year and put 10k + miles on it so far... Love it! If I had to point out a drawback iI would have to say finding saddle bags that don't look jacked up on the bike... Yeah, I know it doesnt sound right on a Bob, but lunch to work and a 6 pack on the way home is a lot easier with them. Plus over night trips can get chalanging in a back pack...lol

Just picked mine up a 2013 Vivid black. Man these things get hot?! I guess it a lot different then my Jap bike.
How do you guys know if its gonna overheat?
Air cooled will always run hotter (or feel warmer) than a water cooled metric... Just the naiture of the beast. Heck if I can handle it in 105 degree East Texas heat anyone can handle it anywhere...lol

Hey thank you for the reply!
What are the risks of overheating? What would be a "Red Flag" that I would need to be aware of when driving in traffic? I'm worried I'll be stuck in traffic and the bike might lock up.

If you are in a lot of stop and go traffic there is a setting the dealer can change that will shut off the read cylinder when you are stopped.

just got a 2013 fat bob left over for a steal.... love it.. i used to jap bikes... sport bikes... but want a more comfortable ride... so to me this bike is the best of both worlds... only thing is i get a lil steering slap at 90 mph + on the highway. been there since day one... anyone know if there is a cure for this? other than that i love this bike... best of both worlds

That's true. In my opinion, I've found that the Fat Bob is one of those designs that has a characteristic look that isn't easy to modify. You have to be kind of picky and put some thought into it if you plan on adding bags, apes, or custom paint, otherwise the Fat Bob ends up looking a little bit weird. Like someone tried to force it to be something it isn't.

Here's mine with some smaller bags. They're probably not big enough if you need storage space for trips, but they do make daily riding a bit more convenient.
