Hmmmm, I didn't notice a difference on my "14 Softail but, then again, the dealer did the oil change and hopefully used the Syn 3. I will do the next one.
First oil change
Finally got time to change the engine oil, primary oil and transmission oil in my '14 RK. I used Syn 3 oil and wow, what a difference in shifting it made. Very smooth, leaving you almost wondering if it actually changed or if you were stuck between gears...:biking:

It's unlikely the dealer used Syn3 without you requesting it. The dealer probably used the standard HD 20/50 dino engine oil and Formula+ for the tranny and primary.Hmmmm, I didn't notice a difference on my "14 Softail but, then again, the dealer did the oil change and hopefully used the Syn 3. I decided to do my first oil change myself and I used what I mentioned above that the dealer uses. I found my shifting was so much better and it was easier to find "Neutral". That really pleased me.
Ironically, the HD salesman told me not to "waste my money" on synthetics.
Try some Redline in the trans, & in the Primary, Amsoil 20/50 or Mobil 1 in the Engine it's way better than the Syn3 garbage But it's what ever you choose.
I use Syn 3. Great results. HD made to go in all wholes. What I like is one oil for all. Don't have to stock two or three different oils. Easy to put one in bag incase need to add to one on a trip.
