Setting up some new cams on my 02 ultra classic. Stock tc 88 except Andrews N21 cams with timing chain conversion and 07-17 S&S cam plate with the cam bushings instead of the bearings.
I've got my timing gears aligned and .008 end play on my rear cam.
I decided to check end play on my front cam since I already had the dial gauge out. .022 end play on the front cam. Manual just calls for the .100 shim and gives no spec on front cam end play.
Has anyone brought the end play on the front cam in a little tighter? If so to what spec?

Well I answered my own question if anyone is interested. I called Andrews Cams and they said the end play spec on their instruction sheet is erroneous. They give an end play spec of .008-.012 on both the front and rear cams. He said that he's not sure how that got on the instructions but that end play is not adjustable on twin cam engines. Hope this helps anyone else scratching their heads about the specs on their sheet.
