Good evening all! I have searched the forum for a fix or at least an answer to this problem. Im sure its here somewhere! If someone can point to me to a remedy I would greatly appreciate it.
My wife has a 2013 Fatboy Lo. The last time she rode her bike she told me "a red light came on in the last mile of the ride." She said she wasn't sure which light came on just that she saw it on the console. I checked the console and found the fuel light was the only extra light on. I thought she had run her gas low and just needed a trip the gas station to fix the problem. A week pasted and I went out to start her bike and run it to the store for fuel. The bike would not start. It would turn over but would not start. Thinking the fuel was low I took the gas cap off and discovered the tank was 3/4 full. It was then I realized I never heard the fuel pump engage. I checked the diagnostic codes and found a code for FUEL PUMP OUTPUT OPEN (B2116). I used a test light to check for power to the fuel pump. No current there. Based on the schematic prints, from what i can tell, the power comes through the BCM to the fuel pump.
One other thing that may or may not be part of the problem. We purchased her bike new from a dealership several hours away from where we live now. The bike has had battery drain problems since the day we purchased the bike. The dealership was great to work with and were really like family to us. They replaced 3 batteries for us until we moved to another state. We have had to change the battery twice in the time we have in our current area. The dealerships in this area not customer friendly and definitely believe it is ok to talk down to customers. So to trust them is not an option.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!
