Funnel Tip

Maybe it's just me but it seems that every time I need a small necked funnel to add tranny lube I either can't find mine or it's so full of gunk I don't want to use it. Needing one the other day I turned to my best inspiration for used oil containers, the recycle bin. This is what I came up with. Plastic Plastic bottle Bottle

Water Urinal Plumbing fixture Plastic Foam

Bicycle part Bicycle drivetrain part Auto part Brake Groupset

Vehicle Auto part Muffler Fender Exhaust system
Throw it back in the bin when done.....

You can buy the same one Harley sells for .99 at Wal-Mart.
I stick a piece of rag in my funnel(s) after use. They are always clean.

Dawn does do a good job on oily funnels. Where you wash it is between the Boss and you. ;)
Never thought of a rag in the funnel end. :thumbsup
I hang mine on the wall with a small can under it to catch any cling that finally decides to drip down.
All good solutions,(rag,Dawn, dishwasher) but this way I don't have to worry about anything. Now if I could get the wife to change the fluids on both bikes........:thumbsup
Excellent garage tip.

Do you have a string on it also to pull it out. :)

.....and another one jumps the shark.
Almost time to make a couple and change the fluids before I put the bikes away for 3 1/2 months....:(

Just a FWIW. Since you first posted this little Tech tip I have saved several of these in the garage.
Thanks again. :thumbsup
You're welcome Thunder~Struck ya just never know what you can find in the recycle bin...:)
Just took one out of the trash after I read this. Will be trying it out next time I service a bike.
i keep my oily rags in my funnels. they stay clean that way. but im keeping that tip close by. i wrote it on the garage door. (my handy note pad)
Cisco there's a wealth of information written on the wall behind my workbench...:) This way I can throw the oily rag away too. They always seem to collect grime as well.
I just use a paper towel to stuff in funnels.

If they get too grimy, just throw it away and use a new one.

yup you got to refresh them from time to time.
i think thats what walls and garage doors are for. keeping information handy and at eye level.
