Everyone, Kainam provided these images captured from a great Adventure Rider's forum thread called, "The Original Adventure Riders". Back in the 1940's and 50's, long before there were nimble off road bikes, riders would get on their Harley Panheads here in Colorado, and I'm sure many other places, and take them anywhere, any season, on road and off road. They indeed were real enthusiasts. BTW, I know of the rider in the second image below and saw pictures of him at a recent local off road event, riding a bit on a dirt bike, and he is in his 80's. Thanks for providing Kainam.

Those men were of a generation of unparalleled fortitude and heart. They flew fighters and other planes and rode motorcycles in wars and won. Many came home and rode for the solidarity, exhilaration and celebration of life. Thank goodness we had them in our past!
