Hard plastic bags to hard leather bags??

I was going to ask a follow up question on the thread 'Hard leather bags to hard plastic bags??' but it seems that thread took a wrong turn... :spar

Found it best to just start my own thread...

I wonder how my bike would look with the classic factory hard leather bags...

Anyone with a newer (2013-2014) RKs that has gone the other way... from hard plastic bags to leather?

Profile photos that you can share?

And yes... I will try to find someone here that would be willing to swap saddlebags just to see what it looks like... but wanted to see if someone had already done it on the newer bikes that only come with the hard bags...

I love my RK Classic, but on your CVO I honestly don't think the leather bags would look right at all. Now, maybe the bags from a RK Custom...

That being said, if you come to one of the gatherings I'm at, you're more than welcome to slap one of my bags on her and see how it looks to you.

I am thinking the same... but just curious on how it would look.

Thank you for the offer. Can't wait for when I am able to take trips that far

For now I will have to look for someone here in Orlando.

Biketoberfest is around the corner. Pretty sure I will find someone there to do this test and take the photos.

Having been exposed to each, leather bags for about a month and hard bags ever since, I would never go back to the leather bags. My leather bags were Road King Classic bags and the hiding of the quick latches made the latches a pain to operate. Those other leather bags without the straps may be more convenient, I don't know. The extra care the leather needs may please some but I would rather ride than care for leather when the hard bags work so well.

Must the the romanticism of the old ways when the RKs had leather bags...

The more I think about it... I am good with what I have... Thank you guys.

Now back to normal programming...
