So, if I am going to have the Queen's front end lowered is there a significant difference between the two enough to make me go either way?

Oh yea! The funny thing is no matter what type of ride you prefer, you will like the proggresive spring better. It is softer and more plush than stock at low speeds and firm up at high speeds to keep you SAFER with their superior control. This is in theory to me because I have not yet installed them on my ride yet.

I fitted a pair of Progressive 440's on a friends Road King Custom for him, so much better. Didn't bottom out once on the way back.

I reread your post Lil and I think I misunderstood the question. The rear suspension Is something I don't have personal experience with and have heard mixed reviews on the progressives. Some people love them and some not so much.
