Helmet head - Not looks- Sorry for the weird question...

I was just looking at the recent helmet thread and am getting ready for a new one myself...
How many of you are wearing a do rag under your helmet?
I never have and the older I get and the less hair I have it seems the sweatier things get (all kinds of things, but I am refering to my head...)

Do they help?
Do they make you hotter?
Do they help keep your helmet from getting nasty??
Do they make your helmet slide around??

Again, Sorry for the weird question...
Not worried about looks...

:thumbsup =1 on this, except I wear a bandanna.
My opinions are the same as Softail Billy's. :thumbsup:thumbsup
The dew rag/bandana keeps your hair from looking weird, funny, dorky when taking off the helmet. It becomes more of a focal point than wearing the dew rag.

My other method is to keep a baseball or better yet Harley cap in my saddle bags and I switch helmet for cap when I get off the bike.

Either is better than the alternative or . . . you could shave your head.
Thanks for the input...
Don't care about looks.
More about not having the helmet get so nasty.
Current helmet w\ removable/washable liner had one of the tabs break and is now officially a pain in the a**.
Just looking for alternatives to the liner getting too "Funky."

Have not used this product but several friends have. All have good things to say about it.

Helmet Fresh Cleaner, Cleans Inside Of Helmets, Sports Equipment
Everything Billy said except about stinky helmet. I sweat like a pig with or without a doo rag so, nope it doesn't help with stinky, sweaty helmet.

Basically nothing helps people with hair from getting ' helmet hair ' . Just be happy and thankful you HAVE hair...most of my riding buddies shave their heads as they are partially bald to begin with...:biker:
I have not used anything for the motorcycle helmet because I didn't think about it. But I do use headsweats when riding my bicycle. It helps tremendously there. Yes, very different situations as the bicycle helmet is open and it allows the head sweat to dry, sort of. Depends upon how hard I'm peddling.

But they do dry very fast when removed so it may be a good option for under the motorcycle helmet as well.

Headsweats
Interesting. And they come in dew rag styles too.

Same here, but if I dont have it....**** it...I dont care if my hair is messy.
I lost my hair years ago. Still got some on sides. I always wear a helmet. I'm turning 50 and I just don't give a fvck anymore.

I've been making do rags for 40 years. I agree with all of the above. As for making you hotter...not if you wear 100% cotton. It absorbs the sweat and cools as it dries. If you wear one of those stretchy nylon/polyester kind, there's no air circulation at all, you may as well put a plastic bag on your head!
Nothing better than Hairdo by Helmet, chicks dig it!

We might have to start a hairdo thread with pics. Totally bald or shaved heads don't qualify, inverted Mohawks accepted case by case basis.
