Honest opinion on bike deal

Ok here's the scoop I have a 2005 EG with 97k on it I'm looking to trade it in on a 2007 FLHTCU with 24k but with a salvage title. The title does not bother me the bike is beautiful but I don't want to get taken on the deal. So what do you think my bike is worth in comparison to the one I am trading it for?

without doing a bunch of research no way to know. What are they asking for the 07? What do you THINK yours is worth?
I have no idea what your bike is worth, but I have seen other high mile 03 to 06 bikes go for about $5500 to $6500. As far as the salvage bike goes it would depend on if the frame was damaged or not.
Take it to a dealer or an indy for a complete check, also ask how much they think it's worth. You don't want a pretzel with a motor.
Not sure but anyone know of registration issues with a salvage title? Thought certain states had issues with salvage titles from other states. Probably remembering something wrong though. Spend some time inspecting the new bike though, she might be pretty but if she needs a new belt, tranny or something big it wont be a good deal.

Agreed. I would make damn sure that this bike is good to go before buying. (My advice to you.) If it were me, I would pass unless I was part of the rebuild and REALLY knew what I was getting.
Is there any way to find out why it was salvaged? Without knowing I think I would stay away from it.
They are asking $8,999 for the 07 and the bike is being sold at an Indy shop and 5500-6500 seems a little low for mine even with the miles I was thinking more of $7k

Everybody gots to eat.......buy yours at wholesale, turn at retail . :)

9 grand for a salvage title '07 is a little on the high side.
Isn't licensing a salvage title a pain in the a$$? In Texas, you have to produce receipts for all damage repair done to make it road worthy.

Here's a bunch of info on the subject from the California DMV:

It also has to inspected and certified safety passed .
I'm never much on salvage titled bikes unless I am the one rebuilding them and see where they are. To much can go wrong for me on 2 wheels. Good luck in your endeavors

California has a "Revived Title" that can be issued then licensed. You can't register one with a Salvage Title.
Even if you get it titled, you may want to make sure your insurance will cover it.
Hate to get stuck with a bike you own, but can't insure or sell for the same reason...
Salvage titles don't bother me I have an 07 Hayabusa that has a salvage tile and I haven't had a single problem out of it. What bothers me is they came back with an offer on my bike $4000 trade in and they want $9000 for their salvage title bike. I would like to think my bike is worth a little more than that on trade in and their a little less than $9000 it's an 07 with 24k on it. I can go to an auction and get a similar bike with a salvage title myself for way less than that. I would think my bike would be at least worth $5000 on trade in?

Kelley Blue Book
Seems a bit low on the trade in value from your dealer.
You can always make them an offer. Or you can try selling your bike outright, lot easier to deal when no trade is involved. Try craigslist or Ebay.
That KBB link is a little low too mine is an FLHTI vs FLHT I just listed it on CL we will see what happens. I just couldn't stomach my bike and 5k for an 07 salvage lol they are definitely smoking something

An 05 with that mileage in Texas probably wouldn't even bring 5 k.07 with salvage title in Texas maybe 5k ..looks to me even trade...
