Hi,

I am a new rider. I just got the 1200 SportsterXL. I rode it for about 15 miles and then I had a Screaming Eagle cone shaped air filter put on. After that, I noticed that the rear of the seat got hot when I was riding. I am not sure if I just did not notice it before or if it was a result of the modification of the air filter. Is this normal? Thanks for your help.

I cant imagine how the air filter had anything to do with your seat. Was it a sunny day Black seat soaking up sunlight type of thing? less it effected your air/fuel ratio and rear jug got extra hot, but that heat would show most likely in the crotch area. Cant speak for the EFI models.

Thanks all.... I feel a bit foolish. I guess I am so used to 90 degrees I didn't even think about that. All was well during the cool (75) morning ride.
