Old Harleys didn't have a rev limiter because old bikers knew a blown motor is an expensive repair.
Today bikers have more dollars than sense.

It's not a matter of potential, it's just a matter of where they have the speed limiter set from the factory. A tuner can fix it.

Aside from that, I'd put the M8 at the front of the line when it comes to power and dependability against any other motor HD has produced. This powerplant also responds to upgrades much better, meaning you yield more gains with something simple like a cam change.

Not sure, other than just trying to over rev the engine. That may get you the desired effect for whatever reason...
I've heard these crackerbox tuner cars do that. Always thought it sounded like shit personally.

The old Harleys won't do that. Over rev, first off, you float the valves destroying valve springs, second, expensive shit starts to break. If you're lucky, a rod won't break and poke a nice hole in the case.
