OK, so I picked up a sissy bar and mount for my Street Bob today, unfortunately they only came in chrome. I am not a big fan of color... only the lack there of... any suggestions on the prep for these parts and any suggestions on the paint I should use... I was thinking of a black crinkle coat.

Hey Mike,

Love that avatar. I've seen it before but it never fails to bring a smile to my face.

I would recommend powder coating. I have had the same problem on my blacked out bike with the front axle nut covers from Harley. They only came in chrome. I took it down to my local powder coat guy (you will be surprised how many guys are around) they prep the pieces for you so you dont have to worry about it yourself and its not expensive. I did my handlebars too.

I used powdercoat on my parts.

Here's what it looks like now:

I did the tach mount in what Sumax calls "Tuxedo Black".

And another shot when it was new,
