I just got home from a photo shoot.
The local paper is doing an article on the increase in motorcycle riding in the face of rising gasoline prices and for it they wanted a woman's perspective. After the interview they asked me to go out on the road and took pictures from a car traveling nearby.

Motorcyclist Strikes Moose on the Thruway

An upstate man is recovering after his motorcycle ran into a moose on a section of the Thruway.

State police say 39-year-old Kim King of Buffalo was traveling east on the Berkshire spur of Interstate 90 early Friday morning when he hit a young 600-pound bull moose in the Columbia County town of Chatham, near the Massachusetts line 23 miles southeast of Albany.

Troopers say King was able to lay down his motorcycle so he didn't hit the moose at full speed.

Police say King was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition with multiple fractures and internal injuries.

The moose suffered two broken legs and was put down by troopers.

Yes but, for many guys our age, our tastes are just way too refined,
and our time is just way too valuable, to consider spending much of it

I keep checking the paper every day and nothing yet. Folks around here who asked me what was going on are laughing at my impatience. They remind me it is a local newspaper and can take some good time. Funny thing is this Sunday an over 500 biker ride was held to support efforts to help missing and exploited children and it still hasn't hit the paper. For a town our size, one would think it should have already. Some are thinking it will be a part of a larger effort to cover motorcycling today and will come out soon. Who knows!!!

Motorcycles take to the streets for National Center
It was a great day to go for a motorcycle ride and dozens of people did; turning out to support the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Sunday.

The ninth annual "Motorcycles for the Missing," ride was held Sunday afternoon. It's a 75 mile poker run through the finger lakes region, to benefit the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children/NY branch. Their mission is to assist in the recovery of missing children and to prevent child victimization through education about child abduction, molestation, and sexual exploitation
