I have an 03 Wideglide and I smelled an electrical burning smell while I was riding. The speedometer went back and forth a couple times, then my bike died. Everything went out except for the indicator lights that were staying on constantly even with the switch turned off. When I took my ignition switch off of the tank, I can smell the electrical smell there as well. I figure that this is where I need to start, but where else should I be looking for my issue?

It sounds like a failure in the ignition switch, the bike probably quit running when the main circuit breaker tripped.

The fact that a circuit is getting power even when the ignition switch is off points to the switch.

Try reading the switch with an ohmmeter.

You should not see any continuity between the terminals in the switch when it is turned off.

I would take a good look for burnt or frayed wires that are connected to the switch looking for burning evidence. A short or damaged sheathing in the wires could cause this
