Like the old hands here say the Shop manual and Shop parts manual are really worth the money.

I work nights too and it's a pain getting anything done on workdays.

OR it looks like the same thing cars use on doors and hatches. SO you could steal one off your wife/girlfriend's car. It would probably be months before she finds it missing. How often do you look to see if they are still there?

 

The rubber must get dried out after a while. Lost mine on the way to C3. Picked up a new one at Ozark HD. Put some liquid soak in the nipple to help get it through the hole.

That part is an H-D anomaly. It's cheap and usually in stock.

I must have some odd habit that makes my foot hit it. I've lost it twice. Next time I am buying two and keeping one in the tourpak. When you lose it, the clanging stand bugs the crap out of you.

 

Maybe a kickstand extension is in order?

He said nipple... Mine came off before and I used vegetable oils to fit that nipple through the small hole... A lil persuasion and you can get it in there

Gorilla Glue it, will stay forever. :wink

 

Every time I use Super Glue, after one use, the cap ends up getting Super Glued to the tube and it gets thrown away. So I guess the $1.11 is a wash.

 

Keep mine standing straight up avoids those issues. Stuff can be a pain if not careful.

I also wipe the tip of excess.
Then do sort of what nurses do when giving a shot. I squeeze the bottle till almost all the air is out, without any glue exiting the tip.
Then cap it securely.
Have had good luck getting a considerable amount of usage out of a bottle this way before either the nozzle totally clogged or the remaining contents hardened.

 

It happens....cheap fix though.
